Amnesty International's Student Activists have historically been at the frontlines of human rights movements: from standing in front of tanks in Tiananmen Square to sitting at lunch counters in Greensboro, North Carolina. We are a people from across the world standing up for humanity and human rights. Our purpose is to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth, and dignity are denied. We investigate and expose abuses, educate and mobilize the public, and help transform societies to create a safer, more just world.

So I made this flyer. Or whatever.
Jamnesty is this Friday (Amnesty International benefit show). Bryant Street Festival is on Sunday (Come out! I’ll be selling artstuff and making coffee at my own little table). Art Show with RayGun on the twentysecond of June.
Between now and Sunday morning much coffee will be consumed and much art will be made.

This is an awesome poster! Thanks for sharing. :) How did Jamnesty go?

Inspired by the song “Nelson Mandela” by the Specials, this updated take on the classic protest song was performed by “Concrete Cloud” at the 2011 James Madison High School Amnesty International “Jamnesty” Concert. It was written to focus attention on one of the most notable crimes against the legitimate exercise of freedom of expression of the 21st century. According to Amnesty International’s website, “Filep Karma is serving 15 years in prison for raising a flag. A prominent advocate for the rights of Indonesia’s Papuan population, Filep Karma was arrested for taking part in a peaceful ceremony on December 1, 2004, which included the raising of the Morning Star flag, a symbol of Papuan independence.”
